Beautiful Himachal

Description

Amritsar - The Cradle Of The Golden Temple One of the largest cities in the state of Punjab in northwest India, Amritsar is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh community. Named after the holy tank of Amrit Sarovar, the city of Amritsar was founded in the 16th century by the 4th Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das Ji. His successor Guru Arjan Dev Ji developed the city into a sprawling town and in 1601, completed the construction of the magnificent temple that was initiated by Guru Ram Das Ji. Before the Partition of India in 1947, Amritsar was of paramount importance in the business and commercial front of undivided Punjab. However, the partition left Amritsar as a border town lining India’s western border with Pakistan. The trade activities of the town are now limited to carpets and fabrics, handicrafts, farm produce, service trades and light engineering. Amritsar tourism is another major commercial activity of the region. Dalhousie Dalhousie is the cultural and scenic heartbeat of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. Perched at an elevation of 6463 feet, it is a precious bit of heaven on earth.

Dalhousie - Dalhousie is one of those unique hill-stations that have three majestic mountain ranges in its line of sight. You can see the Dhauladhar, Kailash and Pir Panjal peaks from Diankund, Khajjiar and the Dalhousie Mall. It is one of those tourist places that are open all year round despite a stark difference in topography and weather conditions. Come here for the snow-trek in winter or go meadow-zorbing in the summer, Dalhousie Tourism will dazzle you at all times.

Dharamshala - It is situated at an altitude of approx 1500 meters above sea level in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, stands at the foot of Dhauladhar ranges and has a magnificent view of snowy peaks, deodar and pine forests, tea gardens and beautiful hills. The snow line is perhaps more easily accessible at Dharamshala than any other hill station in India. Dharamshala now really has become international, with a number of Tibetan settlements and the residence of Noble Laureate the 'Dalai Lama'. Dharamshala is devided into two distinct parts : lower Dharamshala, the civil and business area with Courts and Kotwali bazar and upper Dharamshala composed of places like Mcleod Ganj and Forsyth Ganj. Mcleodganj , in upper Dharamshala is the abode of His Holiness the Dalai Lama , and also the Center for Tibetan Studies is located there.
